RADIX BASE STATIONS provide new levels of monitoring, tracking and automation across agricultural operations, even in the most remote rural areas, utilising LoRaWAN and IOT (Internet of Things) technologies.
Alongside a full project installing 43 BASE STATIONS, this particular unit is being used for R&D with various agricultural sensors both arable and livestock farming, cattle and vehicle tracking, as well as monitoring water levels, grain stores and weather stations, to name but a few.
Challenge
The location of each BASE STATION is essential to achieving the optimal coverage across the LoRaWAN Network, and these sites included some of the most remote and hard-to-access areas in rural Scotland.
As installation would take place across active farmland, it was necessary that everything was well planned and prepared to cause as little disruption to daily operations as possible.
Solution
Day one, following a detailed deployment plan for the installation of each BASE STATION, our team accessed the site by ATV and 4×4 with the transportation of ground screws and equipment. With foundations installed smoothly, RADIX was able to complete the BASE STATION installation and network configuration, all running to schedule.
