To create foundations for a summerhouse on a coastline hillside in the East Neuk of Fife. The customer wanted to replace an old garden shed that had been on the site for many years.
Client: | Gillies & Mackay |
Location: | Monifieth, Scotland |
Product: | 12 Nr. 1200mm Foundation Ground Screws |
Project Cost: | Available on request |
Challenge
The only practical access being from the shore end, this meant that tools and equipment could only reach the site by walking down the hillside parallel to the garden, walking along the coast then walking up a steep incline through the garden to the location. The challenging access had resulted in some pretty high quotes from companies offering to create traditional cement-based foundations such as concrete aggregate or slabs.
Solution
Requiring no shovels, wheelbarrow, cement mixer or concrete slabs, and to the customer’s delight, No More Digging completed this installation in a morning.
Using 12x 1200mm foundation screws, weighing around 8 kilos each, there were a few long walks involved but no heavy lifting or upheaval to the scenic garden. The ground screws were fully levelled and brackets attached, ready for the new summerhouse construction to go ahead.
As a family business very much driven by customer service, we only use reliable, honest and competent trades to support us. We are therefore delighted to now be working with No More Digging, who ticks all of these boxes. We recently commissioned them to install ground screws as an alternative to concrete for a garden room in Crail, saving the customer over £1500!
Our partnership with No More Digging is a complete blessing – we love working with them and so do our customers.
