Our No More Digging partners rely on proven equipment and processes to ensure every ground screw installation meets the highest standards. A recent addition to that armoury was the RADIX 8000 Precision Torque Monitor, created in collaboration with Datum Electronics.
RADIX’s Shane McGivern recently visited Datum Electronics for a behind-the-scenes look at the technology that helps make it possible. Captured in a new video, the visit took Shane to Datum’s facility on the Isle of Wight, where he met with Managing Director Michael Irons and members of the engineering and production teams
responsible for manufacturing the RADIX 8000 Precision Torque Monitor.
The RADIX 8000 PTM is a wireless torque monitoring system developed with Datum Electronics specifically for ground screw, screw pile and helical pile installations. Compact and built for demanding site conditions, it provides real-time torque verification and installation data during the installation process.
For No More Digging partners, this technology plays a key role in maintaining consistent installation quality across the network. As ground screws are driven into the ground, the torque achieved provides an important indication of ground conditions and load-bearing capacity. The RADIX 8000 PTM records this information
live, transmitting the data to a smartphone or tablet while automatically logging readings for reporting and compliance purposes.
